Can solicitors no longer complete Statutory Declarations?

Hi folks,

I noticed on the new naturalisation application forms (Form 8.) that, on the Statutory Declaration page, solicitors are no longer listed as being authorised persons to witness.

Is this an oversight on the application form or is it actually the case? I would have thought that if it were intentional, and indeed solicitors are no longer permitted to witness, it would be mentioned in the guidance notes as a significant change from the old form and rules.

Ah, I see now. I was sent Form 8 version 3.0 by the Citizenship people, but the current version is 3.1.

The latter mentions solicitor as being an authorised person, the former doesn't. So it was just an error. That's good news.
