URGENT: Please advise if I can apply from the Philippines

Hi,

I am an Indian national and was intending to apply for a UK spouse settlement visa from the Philippines which is where I work. I have been waiting to receive my "long term" visa for the Philippines in order to be able to apply for the UK spouse settlement visa.

I've just got my passport back, only to receive the shock of the Philippino work visa being valid up until the 10th of February 2012-which means that as of now, my Philippines visa validity is 1 week less than six months!

Would I be able to apply for a UK Spouse settlement visa considering that my Philippino work visa validity is for just under six months?

If I apply next week, my Philippino work visa will only be valid for 5 and a half months.

Please advise.

Hi vinny,

Thanks for the links.

I checked the links but I couldn't find any clear instructions which states that in some cases one can apply for UK long term visa if the visa they have in the country of residence is not more than 6 months.
