Loosing british passport for not staying in UK for long time

Post by 1rithu23 » Sat Aug 20, 2011 12:43 pm

Hi,
What is the time frame before which one need to come back to uk with British passport.
I have applied and received my British passport for myself and the family(Wife and 2 kids). We are planning to go back to India next year.My Question is if there is a maximum number of years before which i should come back here to have maintain my British passport or is there anyways i would be losing our British passports if we are not staying in the country for more than say 5 years.

Many Thanks
Rithu

There is no timeframe; it does not expire.

Citizenship does not expire. Passports are normally valid for ten years and may be renewed.
