Moving to spain - Non EU wife

Hello

My wife (brazilian) recently got here ILR (residence permit) for the UK stamped in her passport - it cost us a small fortune!

Sod's law: I (british) am likely to be moving to work in Spain in the next couple of months. Does anyone know what I need to do to make sure my wife can come with me, legally so that if she wants she'll be able to work?

As you do not mention to which city you are moving to this is going to be generic. Be aware that if you do not speak spanish you are pretty much foked if you go there for business/living purposes unless all your enviroment is english speaking of course.

Most important is to get the ID card NIE (although you are not obliged to have one you will be asked for it everywhere when paying with debit/credit card) which also ease the exit/entry to Spain and the Schengen area.

If you are moving there to work, you should (and hopefully will) find the process smooth and easily. Bottom line is your wife has an almost absolute right to be there with you.

She can work or study or whatever she wants, as long as you are working there (or doing some of the other allowed things).
