Waiting for BRP 7 days now

Hi
I have received the letter which informs me that my application has been approved and BRP will be sent in separate cover. But i have been waiting for it about 7 working days now. (The letter was issued on 17 Aug 2011) Do you think there is a problem about it? I need to travel to Scotland on the 5th of Sept. Can i travel within uk without BRP (i received my passport back already)

By BRP you mean British Passport? If yes, you are clearly British, and need to appreciate that British Citizens are not required to have a British Passport. A passport is only required if foreign travel is contemplated.

A British Citizen is no less British if they do not possess a British passport. So of course travel to any part of the UK is OK.

no borders/border posts between ireland and northern ireland either....although ireland is EU
