Dependent Visa for my bf who is currently holding a tier 4?

Post by honey_rn » Fri Sep 02, 2011 2:10 am

Hi everyone! I would just like to ask if it is possible for me to get my bf a dependent visa if we will get married here in UK? Or our marriage will not be valid unless we get married in our country (Philippines)? I currently hold a tier 2 visa. Thank you so much!!

You can get married in UK but he would have to return home to apply for a dependent visa if ie currently has a tier 4 visa. See 319C(h) of the immigration rules.

Thank you so much for the reply. So that means our marriage there in UK would be valid for him to be my dependent? what a relief. Do you know how long will it take for him to be approved?.. Or are there any grounds for refusal? Thank you!

read the PBS dependent guidance for the requirements.

Processing times vary from country to country and depending on what time of year the application is made. Have a look at the current processing times for the Philippines on the UKvisas website.
