Passport hold by the Uk Border Agency and sent to LIT.

Hi im a non European man 33 with an expired visa, and recent tried to apply for a COA to marry an European. I sent the aplication form incusive passport in March/11, then i received a letter from the UK BORDER AGENCY saying the COA was abolished and i should give my notice of marry at the designated register office, they also said they would be sending my passport to LIT as i dont have a valid leave to enter/remain in the UK visa. So i gave a notice of marriage in my local R.Office and im marrying in october/11, all done without my passport, only using my National ID Card. Right my question is; Can they hold my passport? the letter says i have to contact LIT to arrange the collection, If i do so, what could ended up happening? Would i get my passport, or would i be hold and deported? Im not sure what to do, any help would be very grateful.

You have no real choice other than to wait until after the marriage.

They might try and remove you.Get a lawyer quickly.And gather documents that prove your relationship is genuine.
