Indian Passport renewal delay (Germany)... advise needed!

Hi all,

I really need advise from anyone who can help me out.

I have applied for a new passport in germany and it was meant to take 4 weeks but now it has already been 8 weeks and after calling them every day for the last week, they have told me that today the passport is issued in India and gave me its details: Pasport number, date of issue (13 sept) and expiry date, but are unwilling to give me more details on when I will get it saying they can't do anything.

I am meant to apply for a uk student visa this week to join cambridge in 2-3 weeks time, but now i do not know when I will get my passport and i feel that i could miss joining uni.

If anyone knows, can someone tell me how much longer it could take? or how long it could take for a passport issued in india to be sent to the embassy outside india? Does it mean that my passport has been printed and is being posted if they are able to give me a pssport number, or does it only mean that it is entered into the system?
