Moving from PWS into another category - ANY ADVICE PLEASE

Post by Doune » Fri Sep 16, 2011 10:08 am

I am currently in the UK on a PSW visa. It will be up in a few months and I was planning to transition into Tier 2 general. I have been with my company for 1.5 years in the current role and was planning to continue with them.
I do not meet the salary requirement of Tier 2 general and I have been told (by a member of this site) that there is no way around this requirement. Does anyone have any advice? Is there a different category that I can apply under?
Any advice or help would be much appreciated! Thank you.

Asking if there might any other category that you are eligible to apply for would require you to list your current circumstances so we may try to match those with a category. As it stands, we have idea if you have a settled fiancee that you might marry; or have access to 200K to invest; or could return to study for an MBA; etc.

I think you need to look at the work and study categories in detail and see what there is that you might qualify for.

Thank you for getting back to me. I am not in a position to get married nor do I have access to 200K investment (would be nice though!)... I have an MSc already although I am not working in that field at the moment. I am a US citizen. I will look into some of the work/study categories in more detail but if you have any other advice it would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
