Tier 1 dependent visa Ext Plz Help

I am on Tier 1 general expiring in jun 2012

my wife came in july 2011 and went back in first week of sep due to some problem bec no one is here to take care of her

if she stay there visa ext will b possible from outside in jun 2012 or she has to come back before visa expire


please help me out
