Maintenance funds - need to prove anything else?

Post by afriley » Fri Sep 16, 2011 7:36 pm

I have paid my course fees in full and this is shown on my CAS.

I have also paid 1,350 for accommodation (I will be moving into the accommodation 2 days before making my visa extension application as I am already in the UK), and I have established presence - so for livings costs I only need to show 1,200. Am I right in thinking that I do NOT need to show any bank letters/statements because I've paid everything and have nothing left to prove?

MONEY ALREADY PAID TO THE TIER 4 SPONSOR

169. If the Tier 4 (General) student can show that he/she has already paid all or some of his/her course fees to his/her Tier 4 sponsor before making his/her application this amount can be taken away from the total amount of money he/she will need to show.

170. If the Tier 4 (General) student can show that he/she has already paid all or some of his/her accommodation fees to his/her Tier 4 sponsor before making his/her application, this amount also can be taken away from the total amount of money he/she will need to show for living costs. This only applies if the Tier 4 (General) student will be staying in university or
college arranged accommodation

Yes, I've read the guidance! :)

The application form is confusing in itself. It asks if I have have anything left that is "owed" - so I assume I answer "no".

But then it goes on to ask if I have the funds in my name! If I have nothing owed (by this I assume they mean the money I have to prove", do I just say i have the money in my name and provide no documentation (as I don't need to prove any funds), or just ignore the second question altogether?

Either is fine.
