HELP - Indian Tourist VISA required (Urgent)

We have been in the UK more than 40 years. My and my wife's previous nationality was Indian but we acquired British Nationality 25 years ago

We are applying for a Tourist VISA to India and one of the requirements for the above scenario is "If travelled to India before, please provide your previous Passport with Indian VISA".

We travelled in 2005 since which time my wifes passport has been renewed. I cannot find her previous expired passport even though I have spend the last 4 weeks looking. My passport has not expired so is showing the VISA from 2005

Her parents have long thrown their old Indian passports away

Can anything be done in making a new VISA application for my wife
