Student Overstaying UK Visa

Post by UKshahUK » Fri Sep 23, 2011 2:33 am

To Whom It May Concern:

Dear Sir/Madam,

As an international student I have finished my course and planing to return to my home country. I came across a extremely important and urgent work to do in another country on my way back home.

This requires visa and in a ideal world I just have minimum time to stay in UK while that country's embassy will grant me that visa, BUT IF IT WOULD TAKE A WEEK OVER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN?...................... in simple words what sort of circumstances I have to face if there would be a narrow chance of overstaying in UK?

Many Thanks.

Do you mean overstaying for one week.

If you ca avoid it it better to avoid the whole overstaying thing. As you might face some questions if you intend to come back in the future.

But if you have overstay for less than 28 days. You will not face a ban in the future.

Para 320 of the Immigration Rules:-
Grounds on which entry clearance or leave to enter the United Kingdom is to be refused...................

(7B) subject to paragraph 320(7C), where the applicant has previously breached the UK's immigration laws by:

(a) Overstaying; ......................

unless the applicant:

(i) Overstayed for 28 days or less and left the UK voluntarily, not at the expense (directly or indirectly) of the Secretary of State;
