Urgent advice needed with regards to VAF4A

Hi all, i hope this message reaches you well.

I am applying for a settlement visa for my wife who is currently in Yemen (country on the brink of a civil war, hence the urgency). I have completed the form and have shown it to a friend who has pointed out some errors.

Am I correct in saying for the question which ask "on which date do you wish to travel to the UK?" i should answer with a date after 2 months to allow for visa appointment?

My friend said that the officer get suspicious/funny if i put a correspondence address? is there any truth in this. My circumstance here is that i own a house, however my bank statements, phone bills, driving license and payslips are all registered/sent to my moms address as I am hardly at home.

Explain your situation in a covering letter about your address . Show you own your place and provide evidence .

so are you suggesting that i should put todays date to answer the question 'on which date do you wish to travel?' and in the additional information explain that we wish to travel as soon as we get the visa.

Put the current date. The question is referring to the concession where it's permitted to request a visa start date up to 3 months into the future. However, this is something of a moot point wheb the application process time takes up to 3 months!

Don't worry about the correspondence address. Having one or not having one is not a factor in the visa decision. Don't listen to friends if they are not familiar with the subject under discussion.

Thanks for your advice. Can you also advise me on what I can write in the additional information part to better my chances. Also should I explain in this part (additional information) why my bank statements etc are registered to my moms house?

You add additional information only when you wish to explain anything that is not obvious or may be ambiguous. So how can anyone tell you what to write when we don't know your situation? Most people don't write anything as the application and evidence is self-explanatory.
