Spouse Visa - 3rd party support for Accommodation - Urgent

Post by koolmag » Mon Sep 26, 2011 10:56 pm

Hi,
I am preparing my documents for spouse visa (VAF4). I work for company that is based in Lodon but i travel to my clients locations all the time so i dont have a permanent place in London.

I lived in Manchester for over 5 years and made very good friends. One of my friends owns a 4 bed room house and lives with his wife and 2 children. Since i don't have permanent place to live at this stage he agreed to accommodate me and wife (after she arrives) till we decided to choose a proper place that suits both our tasts.

He is ready to provide a letter confiming the family friendship, acceptance to accommodate me and my wife for an idefinite period of time and also a copy of his passport (British PP) if required.

Can you please confirm:
1) If this is accepted as a proof of valid accommodation?
If the answer to the above question is 'Yes'
2) Any specific format of the letter?
3) What other points should be included to make the letter effective?

I can provide some pictures of me, my wife and my friend (when he visited me in my home country)

I would like to request to privide your opinion based on your experience at the earliest as i am planning to send all documentation in next couple of days

Thank you

You need to get a letter from your friend to state that he is prepared to let you and your spouse to stay with them, until you are in a position to get your accommodation. The letter is to be signed by him

Your friend will need to show that he owns the house (title deeds will confirm this and can be obtained from land Registry website for £4).

If the property is mortgaged, then he needs to show evidence that mortgage payments are up to date ( letter from bank/mortgage co confirming this)

Finally depending on how many people are living in the property, you may need a housing report to confirm the property is habitable and will not be overcrowded.

If you can get all these docs, it should put you in good stead when you lodge the application.

Thanks for details Mr.Khan

1) My friend is not actually letting me but allowing us to stay with them free of rent. Is that a problem?

2) Title deeds - This needs to be original or copies will do?

3) 4 Adults are living in 4 bedroom house. Landlord is fine to confirm that on signed letter. Will that help or i need to get a housing report, is that from council?
