PSW dependent visa

Post by PPC » Thu Sep 22, 2011 7:44 pm

Hello, my husband has completed his masters from UK in Feb 2011 and is presently on Post study work visa. He is working in UK.
I want to apply for my dependent visa.
- Can anyone tell me how amount my husband should show in his account and for minimum how many months
- Bank statements of many months we need to submit while visa application
- If I am going to show my funds, how much it should be and what is the procedure?

Lump sum 2000 pound for min 90 days... or 6 month maximum and it would be good.

its better to submit his statement. make life easier for UK BA to verify the stat

Reading the policy guidance should help.

Thanks for your responses.

I am confused for exact money to be there in my husbands bank account.

Is it 533 pounds for 3 months or 1600 pounds. He is there in UK since Feb 2010 ie: more than 12 months.

I want to apply for visa before Oct end.

That's covered (and is crystal clear) in paragraph 43 of the guidance. A link was previously provided.

Hi Thanks for the reply. But the para 43 mentions 'If the Tier 1 Migrant has been in the United Kingdom for 12 months or more, each family member of the Tier 1 Migrant must have £533 to support himself/herself'. But it doesnt mention how many months the amount is required to be maintained in the account. Is it that the money should be kept for minimum 3 months in the account before applying for visa?[/quote]

So just continue reading the guidance. You'll eventually get to the paragraph that indicates the 3 month requirement.

or look at Annex E of the immigration rules.

I think it would be better if you read the application form and provided only the evidence and documents that are asked for.

Ohh sorry!!! its not mentioned anywhere but I thought to be on safer side it would have been better.
So finally only following documents I would be submitting:
Completed form VAF 10 along with my passport copy (with my maiden name) and photos
2 Bank statement (It would be mine)- 1 which states above 3 lakh rupees at present (I also have 1600 pounds stable amount more than 3 mths). 2nd- Bank statement from other bank which states below 1.3 lakh rupees but 1600 pounds stable for more than 3 mths along with my passbooks of both the banks
Our marraige certificate, marriage photos, phone bills with highlighting his number, email communications till date
Husbands:
Copies of all pages of Passport and his photo
Tent reciept where he stays in UK and letter from his landlord lady that no objection on my stay with my husband at same place
Letter from his company stating he is married, earning specific amount and allow me to come in UK
Invitation letter from him to me for coming in UK
His mobile bills with highlighting my mobile number

Are these sufficient documents?

Waiting for the responses and feedback.

Thanks Lucapooka for all your support.

Post Study Work - Dependants visa

Post by Pragash » Thu Sep 29, 2011 10:24 pm

My wife and two children are going to apply for the visa from Sri Lanka as my PSW dependants. Hope fully 2nd week of October.

My questions are as follows:

1. Did you get visa?
2. Do we really need to arrange accomodation for my family before they get visa? It is not mentioned in the UKBA guidance.
3. Do i need to submit my tenancy agreement?

I have arranged following documents:

1. Our marriage certificates
2. Birth certificates
3. Affidavit (confirming our family relationship)
4. Wedding photographs
5. Wedding invitation
6. T-mobile telephone bills with itemisation
7. letters / greeting cards etc..
8. My sposorship letter
9. Residence permit copy
10. Passport copy ( all the pages)
11. Bank statement with a balance of £2850 for 90 consecutive days
(Wife + 2 little daughters = £533 * 3 = £1599 required as per UKBA guidance)
12. Money transfer receipts - Money sent to my wife
13. ofcourse VAF 10 plus visa fees plus photos

Some are saying that ECO might refuse visa for my dependants since i have not made any arrangement for accomodation.

Did anyone get dependant visa without arranging accomodation?

Can someone check and let me know whether i have covered all required documents? I did not meet my family members almost 2.5 years because of my studies in the UK therefore i need to get this right first time.

PPC. Your supporting documentation looks appropriate (but is the passport copy certified?) but you should really read the guidance and the application form as you are providing much more than is actually necessary. Perhaps you have read too many forums and assume that everything said there applies to every type of application. I have to say that is doesn't!

Thanks Lucapooka for confirmation
I am little bit concerned about documents submission after reading many posts and experience of others. So I feel its better to submit more documents rather than missing out something. Because whenever I speak with the VFS person on the given number for assistance they give some other information.
Regarding certified passport copy, does it should be signed/dated by my Husband only?

Hi Pragash, just confirm if you are on Tier 1 visa more than 1 year then only you can show bank statement of 533 pounds for each dependent. Even I was under impression that my husband in in UK since Feb 2010 which is more than year so he can show 533 pounds but then some1 told me as he is on Tier 1 visa since April 2011 he will have to show 1600 pounds for me

PPC,

I am currently holding a PSW visa since January this year. I have never leave UK for the pass 2 years.

Currently my wife would like to join me in the UK and I initially thought that £533 to prove maintenance for her is sufficient until I read this thread of you. Could you please confirm if we need to prove £1600 instead of £533 if she were to apply before January? Could you let me know from whom did you acknowledge this information?

P/S: if other Gurus have definite answers, please leave a reply as well. We will be upmost appreciate.
