Tier 1 Extension - Ltd Company - Should I pay Salary

Post by ashvar123 » Tue Sep 27, 2011 11:58 am

Hi there..

As most of us do.. I have Ltd company..

I know it is salary which we should pay regularly and dividends like once ina quarter.. or however it suits.

But when I asked my accountant to keep sending me Pay slips/Instructions to pay myself a nominal salary, they came back saying that it will mess up things and also said that they will let me know what should be the salary that needs to be taken at the end of the year.

May be I think different and it looks strange to me..

Will Home office accept such earning where we take one off salary for year and regular dividends..?

Please advise..

Regards,
- Ashvar

The HO will be interested in whether what points for previous earnings you have claimed tally to the back up provided. Salary and dividends (where you are playing an active role in the day to day management of the company) are two forms of income that can be used to back up your claims so it shouldn't matter how things are structured.

Do note that I'm approaching this as an accountant/auditor and not a UKBA caseworker though.

Could you please let me know .. if any one of you faced any issues with extension when you show one salary payment to your account..?

In such case.. how do we show thw salary slips.. will it be multiple salary slips refering to one off salary opayment for a year.. or only one pay slip for the complete year.

Please advise..
