FRESH TALENT included in 5years period for Settlement?

Hello all

Just found some interesting information about FRESH TALENT WORKING IN SCOTLAND SCHEME on the UKBA website in the IDIs. following is the link

Although it says that FT is not a category itself that leads to settlement but the following para is worth reading and consideration.

Section 11 (Page 11)
Settlement

"If a Fresh Talent:Working in Scotland Scheme Participant subsequently switches in to leave in a category which does not lead to settlement, then the period of leave spent as Fresh Talent:Working in Scotland Scheme Participant will NOT Count towards the qualifying period for settlement in that category. This will be the case regardless of what employment or self employment the individual has carried out during their leave as a participant in the Fresh Talent:Working in Scotland Scheme"

It would appear that the period spent in FT will not be counted towards settlement if FT is switched in to such a category that does not lead to settlement ............BUT......... What if FT is switched in to such a category that does lead to settlement, for example switching from FT to Tier 1(General)???????????????

any comments on this please?

The same document also states the following (on the very first page after TOC):

The Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland scheme does not lead to settlement, nor will leave granted under this scheme count towards the qualifying period for settlement in other employment or business routes.

i have got FT 2 years ..i am being daft but just wanted to make sure it is definetly doesnt worth anything ???

Are you asking a new question or merely making a rhetorical question confirming your understanding that FT can't be aggregated with other work categories that lead to settlement?

Yes it does say that it can not be counted in other categories and I have not denied this...... but I am actually asking a question regarding the quoted para.

It does give out an impression that where it is switched to a category that leads to settlement, then it can be counted towards 5years period.

It does say so but my point is that if the para that I have quoted does not mean anything then why it has been included? There must be some meaning to it which I am trying to understand here????????

You can't aggregate FT which does not lead to settlement into a five year period with another work category that does permit settlement. You are getting the same answers all of the forums you are posting this question. When will this eventually sink in?

Oh I never thought u were following me here as well. I will keep asking until some one can explain the para to me which I have quoted. By the way why are u so iritated by this? There are some people on such forums that claim to be experts and consultants etc but no one has even bothered to understand my question?
