How to prove residence for ILR

Post by zanshin » Sat Oct 01, 2011 7:35 pm

Hi,

A friend of mine is applying for ILR and needs to prove that she was not out of the country for more than the allowed time. Unfortunately her passport was stolen last year and so the record of her entry/exit is not available. My questions are:

1. Given the government has a record of the entry/exit stored somewhere, is there any way to obtain this via a FOI request or court order?

2. Are there any other easy ways of proving she was in the country. We have explored using bank records but unfortunately these do not go back far enough

Thanks in advance!

Your friend should make a Subject Access Request clearly asking for records of his/her entry and exit dates in to and out of UK.
