You might want to give BECTU a call and ask to see if they can point you to where that bit of information is on their website. I'm inclined to think that if the UKBA have referred you to the BETCU website, they indeed believe that you can find that information somewhere on the BETCU website.

Rates recommended for freelancers are here:
http://www.bectu.org.uk/advice-resources/rates

Only 3D animation is covered, however, and the site recommends you contact BECTU's head office for other production areas.

Looks like you have to be a BECTU member just to access the rate information from their website. Bit difficult if you're a sponsor - I reckon BECTU should change this.

It seems to be different for different categories: I managed to open the pdf about 3D animators, but as you say, not much use for the "closed" categories.

Hopefully an old-fashioned phone call would get things straight!

The minimum pay for 'Animators' specified in the above website is £178 per day which is at freelance rate. That comes to around £46,000 per year. Not sure if the same paid in full employment.

But, the minimum rate for 'Artists' specified on the same code (SOC 3411) as 'Animator', is just £9.98 per hour.

I'm confused with how to proceed further. Can anyone help me in this regard?
