ILR Inheritance Rules

Post by AzimScot » Mon Oct 03, 2011 10:14 pm

Hi,

I am wondering if someone who has lived with you in the same household who has now left home who is related can they inherit any money under UK law after my death? I understand making a will is wise as you get the say over the law where money gets distributed among your partner and children however if a will is not made can they person who left home who doesn't have any name or documentation on the home title deeds docs can they claim inheritance share? The person now has ILR and I believe she has the same rights as British citizens.

Thanks.

This is not an immigration query.
