Uk from HONG KONG

Hi, I have read the forum and cannot find a specific answer to my question.
Hope somebody can put me in the right direction.

I live in Uk and have done all my life, but I have travelled extensively.
I hold a Uk passport.
My girlfriend is Hk/Chinese and currently lives in Hk where she was born. She holds a HK Passport and a Canadian Passport, from living and studying for 10 years.

She is highly educated with a Masters Degree in Business and holds a Senior Management Position with an International Company in HK.

In 2007 she would like to move to Uk and find employment (or become self employed), she will have a Uk address as she plans to live with me.

I am confused as to the whole situation of immigration? can somebody advise the next steps, that I or her need to take???

Out of interest, does your girlfriend hold British National (Overseas) status?

Should she apply the HSMP? to the Uk first?
Assuming she does not hold BNO passport, which I am quite sure she does not.

Maybe. But what are your plans? Do you plan to get married,for example, or are you living together.

She should probably have all her UK visas stamped in her Canadian passport as it will be simpler to travel around Europe as a Canadian (until she gets British citizenship) compared to a HK or BNO passport.
