Employment Checks

Post by seputus » Tue Oct 04, 2011 8:58 pm

Hi everyone. I've been reading through this document:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary

If you look at page 25, it is referring to documents which provide your employer with an 'indefinite excuse' for your employment. Page 25 section 1 is referring to the EEA4 permanent resident sticker. What I have issue with is the text below, which states that the EEA national must be lawfully residing in the UK for the family member to have and maintain these rights.

Surely this is wrong. Once permanent residence is obtained, it's exactly that. Permament (barring leaving for 2 years) .. Correct?

I think the HO was trying to group the documents which apply to family member and by doing so mixed it up a bit. This should be read as "PR OR other document (Residence Card)". The text below refers to the Residence Card and not to the PR.
