Visa extension options...HELP!

Post by clizzywizzy » Tue Sep 05, 2006 11:53 am

Any help out there much appreciated as the clock is now ticking.

Me...UK citizen
My Partner...NZ Citizen
Both living together....UK

My boyfriends WHV expires on the 7th Feb 07, we have been together for 2 years come Jan 07 but living together for two years on 30th March 07, so we are a month short on the unmarried partner 2 year issue. He wants to remain in the UK, what are his Visa options??? Will he need to return to NZ to apply for whatever it is he can apply for? Please help, any advice much appreciated, all the formal websites seem so complicated.

my partner and I am going through an incredibly similar situation.

My suggestion would be that he will need to apply to extend his stay as a visitor, applying just before his working holiday visa expires. He can do this by using the FLR (0) application form.

He will then have to return to New Zealand to apply for the unmarried partners visa.

I am literally in the process of doing the exact same thing right at this moment - it's a pain but hey - a good excuse for a holiday back at home in NZ and a chance to finally introduce the other half to my parents!

Good luck.
