Switching Student Dependent Visa Tier 4 to Tier 2 (General)

Hi, I am holding student dependent visa and will expire end of April 2012. I got a job offer which is listed in Occupation Shortage List. I want to switch my visa status to Tier 2 (General). My question is Can I apply Tier 2 inside UK?

At the same time, my wife which is holding the student visa (expire end of April 2012), wants change her visa from Tier 4 to dependent Tier 2. Did she Can apply inside UK or have to going back to our home country to apply the switching.

Please help me.

You may apply from within the UK as you satisfy 245HD(xxiv)

Your wife would need to apply from her home country as she does not satisfy 319C(h) in order to switch from within the UK

Tier 4 primary applicant can switch into tier 2 general but you can't apply inside UK you will have to apply from back home.

My wife visa has got rejected due to the same reason, currently she is in tier 4 primary applicant ,and i just tried to switch her status to tier 2 dependant unfortunately her application has got rejected. it was happened just two days back, now i'm sending her back home to apply.

How about my kids. My kids holding dependent student visa. Can all of them apply as dependent permit work visa inside uk? Or have to apply outside?
