First Name, Family Name exchanged in the Life in the UK test

Post by adlin18 » Mon Oct 10, 2011 7:17 pm

Hi all,

I took the Life in the UK test last week and I passed the test. I used my UK photo driving license as the identity proof for taking the test. Unfortunately, in the certificate, my first name and family name got exchanged; the rest of the details (date of birth, place of birth, etc) are all correct.

To check if the above name error is going to affect my ILR application, I called the Life in the UK test customer center, and they said it shouldn't be a problem. However, when I called the UKBIA customer center, they said it all depends on the Case-worker. Should I take the test once again?

Please advice....

Thanks.

Go to the test centre with 2 forms of ID and your proof of address and ask them to correct the certificate. You never know, they might help you seeing as it was their error.

I did read on the Life in UK Test website that '' If you lose this letter, you will not be given a new one to replace it. This means that you may have to pay to take the test again.''. Seems pretty ridiculous. Surely it is possible to print another copy?
