The onus of proof is on you to show you can support your wife (except you are part of a family business). You should be able to supply the original copy of your Joint mortgage title/ownership as proof of accommodation.
The letter that they have written says that-
* they support the marriage between the two of us having followed its development from the begining
* they are 'are reading and willing to offer our full support, including financial, to help the couple settle into life together. we do, however, believe that he is well placed to handle matters himself'
* description of a joint mortgage between my father and myself, and how the 25,000 deposit was a gift. fathers stating his intention for the home to be only for my wife and myself and not for 'his' family. our intention to investigate the conversion of the 3 bedroom property into two flats after perhaps 6 months to decrease the financial burdern on both ourselves by renting one flat out and me and my wife to occupy the other. stating we are both in agreement on this matter.
i do not need my fathers help, but i thought it might just make my case stronger by showing that i had help if i needed it. I will of course be supplying; bank statement history showing savings of 8K+, payslips, p60, employment letter from work, as evidence of my ability to support ourselves without outside help.
is the letter helpful? do they need to be more careful with the wording?
appreciate your help.
