We need an emergency extension to the Fiance visa

Post by silver » Wed Sep 13, 2006 10:46 pm

Hello

I am a bit of an unfortunate case. I am a British citizen engaged to a Peruvian girl on a Fiance visa. The visa runs out on Friday and I have tried and tried to get married to her and though I love her a lot I cannot bring myself to marry her due to buried issues with my family and my familys past that is making in impossible to get through the registry ceremony right now despite attempts. After todays failing she is virtually out of time and so we need to see if we can extend her visa very quickly while I go and get the therapy I need to get past this mental block.

We can get proof from the registry and from email requests I have had with therapists that I have tried and tried to marry her at the registry and have begun to seek a professional to help me. We are going to ring solicitors tomorrow to see what can be done but we would really appreciate some advice and help on this in regards to applying for an emergency application to the home office.

Thanks in advance

The 6 months fiance visa given to your fiance was a long time primarily given for the purpose of getting married. If you have very genuine compasionate reasons for getting an extension you could be fortunate...but the immigration rules do not offer any basis for doing so. If you couldnt sort out a registry marriage that just required you and your partner and 2 witnesses to attend, you'll need to convince the IND why it is going to be possibly done during the period of extension. Try and call the IND PEO and hear their advice.
