What is your nationality/immigration status?
Assuming you are British or have ILR, if he applies in the future to join you for settlement as your fiance or spouse, he would not automatically be refused because of the overstay, but if he was working illegally or claiming benefits to which he was not entitled, or committed some other offence, he might be refused.
If he applies to go to other countries he should not attempt to conceal his overstay in the UK - if he came before fingerprints were required for visas he must have several years of his life to account for, and lying about it on a visa application is not a good idea.
He may or may not be encountered by an Immigration Officer on his departure from the UK. If he is served with a notice as an overstayer, he would be liable to have his fingerprints taken, otherwise an IO has no power to take fingerprints.
