I've been ploughing through the paperwork for the dependency on an ancestry visa. My husband has an ancestry visa and I currently have a Tier 2 which is expiring soon so I will be going back to my home country (also a Commonwealth country) and applying for a dependency to his visa to rejoin him in the UK.
I have a couple of questions:
1) I definitely have to fill out the same form as those with ancestry have to fill out, correct? i.e. VAF2. (ref: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... -students/ ).
2) The form is extremely vague: what documents exactly do I need for this? Is a certified copy of my husband's passport enough? If so, how do I do this certification process?
3) Will I need to get my biometrics done again? They already have them from my T2 visa.
4) What if my husband is an independent contractor for a company outside the UK? (but paying tax etc. within the UK). What sorts of proof of employment do I need from him?
5) What do I put in section 9 of the VAF 2? the form says "see guidance for more information" and the guidance says "put anything you think relevant" (paraphrased). Do I need to include all the ancestry proof that my husband provided for his visa application, or is the presence of his passport/certified copy of passport enough?
Thanks so much - I find the lack of documentation about what I'll need a bit annoying on the home office's part!
