Try the employment forum. This is not for job-search topics.

You have chances. Finding a job in engineering is not known to be a problem especially if you have a British degree. The problem is to live on the salaries you are going to be paid. If you start on your own having no family or any form of support or basis here or if you do not set up your own successful business overrunning huge competition on this market, the chances you will build a reasonable lifestyle here in the long run being an engineer are close to zero. However, any skills and experience you get here, will pave you the way to immigrating to other countries as a skilled professional where you will be able to achieve more and build a better quality of life.

Still, good luck!

the situation is a bit tight for core engineering jobs in the UK. IT jobs are the best at the moment. why dont you try Australia?

i think every form of jobs is down now as the recession has put as iron curtain over Jobs.

one of my friends in UK was telling me that even the locals are now forced to work on lower wages
