New Nikahnama regulations for Pakistanis, please HELP!

Post by syma » Thu Nov 03, 2011 7:37 am

hi everyone,

since these new regulation has come out regarding nikahnamas from Pakistan i.e that they need to be registered and endorsed by the local union council my life has just become HELL.
my nikah was done in Islamabad and THERE ARE NO UNION COUNCILS HERE BECUASE IT IS FEDERAL ADMINITRATED TERRITORY. i have consulted so many people over it and Gerry's aswell. gerry's said i should get it registered which it already is, n also should get it attested by the local authority which issues/registers nikah namas in Islamabad.

as far as i know and have been told through various sources this local authority in islamabad is the Arbiterary Council( also known as Saalsi Council in Sector F-8 ISlamabad). i went to them they have issued me a letter stating when my nikah was done with all the registration details and they have stamped/attested this letter for me. but they are not willing to attest the actual nikahnama becuase according to them it has already beend signed and attested by a nikah registerar who is there representative. i spoke to the assistant director there myself he said look at this nikahnama there is actuall no space for more stamps and attestation plus they are not aware of any such new regulations.

i am sure there are a lot of people going through the same problem right now, if anyone has any suggestions i would really appreciate it. if possible can the website admins can look into this and help us out here.

Regards,

Syma
