Psw (as contractor) to tier 2

Post by simpsonox » Tue Nov 01, 2011 7:09 pm

Hi all,
I have PSW I have LTD COMPANY and My LTD company has been contracted with Company A since April. Every month i am billing invoice to company A,Now i would like to switch my PSW to Tier2. Company A agreed to be my sponsor and produced CoS. UKBA website says that i need to send them my 3 months personal bank statement in addition to that i need to send EITHER 6 months payslip from sponsor or personal bank statements. My company bank balance is quite good and i have been regularly transferred money from my company bank account to personal bank account but Bank statement balance went under £800 (around £500) in last 90 days and i preferbally i would like not to send banks statement as proof of maintenance. Instead can i send my contract between my company and Company A and produce payslips from company. To summarise my questions will be ;

1. Do i have to send personal bank statements ?
2. Or Will my ltd company payslips be ok ?
3. Do i need to send my contract between my company and company A?
4. What other documents i need to send in order to avoid sending bank statemens

Thanks in advance

What documents do i need to send to UKBA ?

Yes I read Guidance, you have to send 90 days bank statements to show that you have enough funds.

For Main applicant it should be £800 and for dependant it should be £533

relevant --> question L1 and L2

to prove u r switching from psw to tier 2, u submit --> 6 months of payslips

'maintenance' section does not require bank statements at alll.....

so, again, are u sure you have read the application form/guidance notes?

Yes I read policy , here is the section regarding to that :

if you have worked for your sponsor for a continuous period of at least six months
immediately before the date of your application. You must be applying to continue in
the same job you are doing on the date of the application.

The most recent payslip must be dated no earlier than one calendar month before the date of
the application.
These should be either original payslips or on company-headed paper. If your payslips are
not on headed paper or are printouts of online payslips, you must provide a letter from your
sponsor, confirming the authenticity of the payslips. This letter can be posted, faxed or scanned
and emailed to

In my case I have been contracted with my sponsor company via my limited company , did you get me ?

Let me explain this way :

I am employee of my own ABC LTD and ABC LTD has been contracted with XYZ LTD

Me(employee) --> ABC(my limited company) ---> XYZ (my sponsor)

as you can see I am not directly employed by my sponsor therefore I can ONLY show payslips from my own ABC limited company NOT from XYZ

For that reason I want to know what will be useful to send ?

Can you please teel me if you are employed by your personal company and your employer is contracting your company's services, can you please tell me how you can prove that your employer is XYZ Ltd because if you are the director of your company then your company ABC Ltd is your employer.
