Marriage registration after sending AN form

Post by Alisza » Mon Nov 14, 2011 10:48 pm

Hi All,

Just a quick question. I live with my long term parter and we are thinking of getting married early next year ( he is from a middle east ). I have filled in my AN application form ( I am from EEA ) and did not put his name under partner details, as it only asks for spouses ( husband, wife or a civil partner which he is not at the moment ). If I send my application now can I inform them later of my changes? Or is it better to wait ( I just don't know how long it will take ) and send my application after getting a marriage certificate? Or shall I just put his name on the form under partner line and explain that we are planning to get married?

Thanks
Alina

Why do you believe it is important to have your unmarried partner named on the application form?

I do not believe it is important. I just wanted to know if you have to let them know of your intentions...

You don't need to. If you want to apply now, you can just leave the spouse section blank.
