Looking for new employer

Post by UKWorker » Tue Sep 27, 2011 9:07 pm

Hi, I wonder if there anyone else is in similar situation.

I am sponsored by my employer and got Tier 2 in 2009 till 2013. I have been working for my current employer for 4 years now as a Finance Manager. There is no opportunity to grow further and there is no challenge left for me. Theoretically I need to wait till 2013 and then extend my stay again with my current employer to further 2 years to be able to get indefinite leave. I will be soon ACCA qualified. I am dreaming of moving on and finding new job. However I think it is almost impossible to persuade new employer to issue a COS for someone new, easier to employ someone who doesn't need it.

Could someone please advice on what is the situation on switching jobs?
Do you know where and how can I look for new work place to keep progressing??
Thank you!

Hi

You would need a new employer to re-sponsor you. Generally they will do this if you have skills they cant find locally, otherwise they will not bother. unfortunately that's how the system is designed. If you are senior, you may have some luck, but as a mid level finance manager it may be difficult to move until you get ILR

Good luck
