Status on Cancelled and later Reverted TIER 2 Extension ?

Post by rohitbrm » Thu Nov 17, 2011 5:47 pm

Hi,

Situation is that I have initiated TIER 2 extension process with UKBA. Due to an emergency requirement regarding the project, I had to travel back so I called the UKBA and requested to cancel my application.

Later I was good to continue so wanted to revert back the cancellation and process my extension of visa. So I called UKBA and requested for the same to continue with the process of extension of my visa.

Now how to check the current status of my Visa, whether under process or cancelled ? Even the UKBA officials are not able provide the status at 08706067766.

Could you please help me with contact number or address who can help me with the current status (cancelled or under process) so that accordingly I can decide whether to work or wait until I get my passport also when can I expect my passport back.

Quick response will be appreciated... Thanks

How was the request for cancellation and then the request to ignore the earlier request made? - verbally or in writing?

And to whom? - the UKBA contact centre?

Both 1] Cancellation of visa extension and 2] Reverting back the decision are done verbally by UKBA contact centre on 08706067766

Verbal requests have no legal status and therefore would have been ignored.

So you mean to say, the VISA is under process as requested initially by mail??

How do I check for the status ? All I have is an acknowledgment letter saying my documents has been received which has , Our Reference Number, will it help to track it ?

I don't think there is anything to check because one may withdraw an application only in the prescribed manner - and, AFAIK, making a phone call with such a request is not one of them. Also, an application once withdrawn cannot be un-withdrawn by a subsequent verbal request to do so.

You must appreciate that you are dealing with issues that have legal bindings ... not buying grocery where you may cancel an order whenever you like and re-instate a cancelled order subsequently!

Ask your employer to call the employer helpline to enquire about your right to stay and work in the UK. The UKBA contact centre will not provide you the status (or any other information) about your application or what your phone calls have ultimately resulted in!
