Fiance visa help

Post by steve87n » Thu Nov 24, 2011 1:54 am

I'm in Malaysia and I'm applying for a fiancé visa to come to the UK.

My boyfriend is a British citizen living in the UK.

We only have 1 problem, my boyfriend claim's benefits in the UK,
He has a part time job but has no wage slip for proof of income (only a letter from his boss)

We both have some savings in the bank, and can support ourselves.

We plan to get married after 1 month then I will apply for 2 year settlement visa so I can start work.

I'm afraid of applying for the visa and being refused because of my boyfriends current employment status.

Anyone got any advice?

Thanks!

Without knowing the sums involved (part-time income and savings held) and you expected outgoings, it's not possible to comment on the chances. Do you have family that can offer financial support?

Most concerning is that you have said your fiance doesn't receive pay slips and can only submit a letter from his employer. Is he paying tax and National Insurance? Or is he working 'cash in hand' without him or his employer declaring earnings? If so, you have a serious problem.

To avoid confusion...who is posting on the forum under this name at present?
You or your British fiance?

he has got lots of family to support us financially and we will be staying with them until we can both work..

i dont have any family in uk.

i don't know exact sums, but enough savings to live for the 6 months before applying for settlement

So not a very helpful response. If you manage to get any information from your partner then please do come back and ask further questions.
