Form AN (New) - Naturalisation - Absences Question

Post by jjustyy » Wed Sep 27, 2006 4:19 pm

My wife will have gone on a few day trips for business meetings by the time she applies for naturalisation, where she has left the UK and came back on the same day.

Am I right in assuming that this means she wouldn't have been absent and would put 0 days when filling in the application for naturalisation?

Yes, that is right. You only count a day where the person was outside the whole of the day ... from midnight to midnight.

Easy example .... someone flies out of the UK on a Monday and returns on the following Friday. You count that as 3 days ... on only the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday was the person outside the UK for the whole of the day.
