Correct SOC code

Post by Pally » Wed Nov 30, 2011 3:17 pm

Hi,

I am planning to apply for Tier 2 (General) visa, from post study work permit, it seems in order to apply for the certificate of sponsorship, I cannot find a suitable SOC Code for my job role is completely different - I am a data analyst - my job responsibilities include producing client performance reports utilising data from web analytics packages, assisting SEO account teams with client reporting, data gathering, adhoc analysis for key accounts.

The codes 2131 and 2132 do not have any category which describes job responsibilities even closer to my job responsibilites on the UKBA site. It does seem to have job titles as analysts but the job responsibilites do not match at all.

What could be the alternative????

1. make a list of all relevant job titles/job description. Remember, your job description(as written on the Code of practice) must be similar, if not exact, to your actual job description, but not necessarily job title.
2. compare job description expected off those roles and yours current job description.
3.short list the job titles based on the above criteria
4.talk to your employer, to agree upon the most relevant job title.
5.?????
6.Profit

Or....

hope some one on this forum does that for you.

My suggestion, start working on the list!
