Schengen visa after divorce!

Hello,dear experts and forum readers.Last month I divorced with my eu husband,been together for 4 years,I have res card valid untill 2013,can someone tell me can I apply for shengen visa I want to go to France with children but not sure what documents to provide,and do I have to pay under which category to apply as a tourist or as a family member as I am retain my rights now.Regards.

Are your children French? If so then you may be able to apply as a non-EU family member accompanying their EU national children. I am not actually sure if such a Schengen visa category exists!
