If you apply for PR in Dec 2012, then you may be able to apply for British citizenship in Dec 2013. That may then take 3-6 months for approval. And then you would need to get a passport. So you would have the British passport in summer 2014, if all goes well and your dates are correct.Punjab wrote:Mine will be expiring next year in june 2012. I will apply for EEA4 in dec but I already have EEA2 just i dont want to spend £40+ on a new passport which i wont need after 6 months if I will have EEA4 and new British Passport
True from the immigrations rules. However, unless using a private jet (in which case, you could probably also spare £40 for a passport), you would not be able to board a flight/train/ferry. Having a valid travel document is normally part of T&C's you agree to when purchasing a ticket.Directive/2004/38/EC wrote:If you are doing it as an experiment and have lots of time and even more patience, then you might try doing it.
If you are wanting to go on a relaxing vacation somewhere then it would not make much sense.
You say "we". Whose passport is expired? EU or non EU?
