UK based Pakistani student wishing to visit France?

Post by gollywood » Sun Dec 11, 2011 1:50 pm

Hi, I have a query on behalf of 2 of my contacts.

Husband/Wife from Pakistan.

The wife is currently studying full time in UK since 2010.

A mutual friend of theirs is unexpectedly visiting France over December/January, and they now want to see if its possible for them to get a short term visit visa to go and meet up with them in France for a few days.

1) Is this possible?
2) What do they need to do / who do they need to contact etc

Many thanks

(I may have originally posted this in the wrong forum)

Yes it is possible for them to visit France.

They need to apply for Schengen visa in French embassy. Since she is a student therefore the embassy may require her to get a letter from her college/uni that her absence for that specific duration will not affect her studies or simply authorizing her absence for that duration. She may need to produce the same letter to the immigration officer at the border as well.

The embassy may further require them to have arranged accomodation, heatlh insurance and that they have enough funds available in their bank accounts to cover their expenses for that duration.
