Tier 2-General-Dependent application-Maintenance

Post by suhas.chatekar » Sat Dec 10, 2011 5:18 am

Hi All,

I'm going to submit my and my wife's visa application for Tier 2 General category. I'm the main applicant.

My sponsor has agreed to maintain me and my wife for the first month. I have a letter from them confirming this.

While filling the online form for my wife, there is no option to specify that my sponsor is going to maintain my wife. This option is available on VAF10.

Am I'm choosing the wrong options in the online application?

I choose 'PBS Tier 2 – General’ as purpose of application and 'Tier 2 General Partner’ as type of application for my wife.

Also the form in the end has following questions

1. Are there sufficient funds to support you and any other dependants?
2. Please state the amount of money available and total number of dependants

what should be my answers to these?

I have exactly the same situation. Could someone help please?

@Suhas.chatekar - Is it not necessary to maintain any funds in my bank account, if I have the letter of maintenance for my dependent from my employer??

Thanks

@nvenon - You do not need bank statement in that case. This is the answer I got from a lawyer. But I still do not know what is the answer to the question

"Please state the amount of money available and total number of dependants"

How about submitting both, the letter from the sponsor and bank statement?

Hi All,

The following document will give the information that you are looking for.

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary

Look at page number 9 of this document
If your Sponsor has ticked the box in your COS certifying your maintenance, then it means that he is also certifying your dependent's maintenance unless he made any remarks in the comments.

@trckraju - Thanks for the reply

But then what should be the answer to the question

Please state the amount of money available and total number of dependants

Hi suhas.chatekar,

Are you applying within the UK or outside the UK?

Hi Suhas,

Never did an online app from India. I could have guided you if you were doing application within the UK. Apologies.
