Couple of questions regarding my ILR?

Hi Everyone

I have just a couple of quick questions

1) Am I ok to sponsor a family member for a visit visa to the UK and this will not affect my wife's ILR application at the end of next year ?? Just some background info - My salary is late £20k and my wife is here on a settlement visa from Pakistan. I am just a bit cautious whether me sponsoring my relative for a visit visa could harm my wife's ILR application at the end of next year.

2) My wife is on an EIF ESOL course which is for new arrivals to the uk (less than 1 year) whose english is poor.
Even If she passes this course and gets the required ceritification and meets the UKBA requirements in terms of the accredited college and awarding body etc.
As I understand it she will still need to do the Esol Entry Level 1 course with Citizenship fulfilling the UKBA criteria (proving progression with her english) - is this correct?

1. No problem with your wife's ILR

2. After doing her English language course, she can do LIUK. That is an easy option.
The question is... to be or not to be....

Thanks for the reply

In terms of 2. - she will struggle to do the Life in the UK Test which I believe is for those who are above ESOL Level 3. My wife is on EIF which is a level below ESOL entry level 1.

You're correct in your understanding. If your wife isn't able to pass the Life in the UK test she will need to attend a UKBA approved ESOL course with citizens content and then show that she has progressed from one level to the next. The college will be required to confirm this in writing when she submits her application for ILR.
