Please help to fill MN1 form

Post by zaheerahmad » Fri Dec 16, 2011 9:44 am

Hi,

I am applying for MN1 of my child. Me and my wife got ILR last week. On page 8, section 3, should I tick yes (child mother is not British citizen yet, just got the ILR). And do we have to fill this complete page?

The other question is regarding marriage certificate. We do have certificate but it is not in English (it is in Urdu language). Can we simply translate it and send it? Or we have to do attestation (in that case it can only be done by Ministry of Foreign affairs in Pakistan, which is difficult to do while sitting in UK).

not sure why you have posted this in 'settling in' and not in the British Citizenship section.

You need to read the guidance which tells you which sections are relevent to your child's application. On what basis are you making your child's application? Was your child born in the UK?

The marriage certificate needs to be translated by a qualified translator, it doesn't need to be attested.

Sorry, I realized later that I posted in wrong area, but dont know how to move it to citizenship.

Child was born in UK. Is there any way that we dont need to send the marriage certificate, as my friend was saying that if the mother applies for the child then no need to send the marriage certificate. But I am not sure.
Thanks

the guidance says no such thing so I would suggest you have it translated and send it.

But I have seen in the discussions that there is no need of marriage certificate. Only mothers ILR and child UK birth certificate would be enough. No_marriage_certificate:
