Status of Dependant visa after main applicant's extension

Post by Niki11 » Fri Dec 16, 2011 4:31 pm

Hi

I am dependant of my husband who is in Tier 1 General visa. His visa expires in March and he plans to apply for extension this December. I am in India at present, came here for the delivery of my baby. My query is, if my husband applies for the extension and is granted in Jan/Feb, what happens to the status of my current visa? I plan to apply for my baby's visa after my husband's visa extension and then travel to UK with my current visa. Will I be able to do it? Or will there be problems in Immigration office while entering UK?

Thanks in advance for any help provided in this regard.

Your leave will remain valid until the date of its expiry ... even if your husband is granted an extension .. and you may travel to UK before it expires and then apply for extension from UK.

Alternatively, after your husband is granted extension you may apply for leave to enter for both you and your child (from India) and then travel to UK.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
