Hi all,
I am planning to use my Lloyds TSB visa debit card to make payment for £2600 at PEO Croydon.
Has anyone had an experience using debit card for a large amount?
If its an issue, can we use multiple debit/credit cards for each of the applicant?
Many thanks,
Jay

It's exactly the same as any retail transaction with your card whether you are buying a TV or paying for an immigration application. If your account has the money at the time of the purchase, the transaction will be approved.

For cash withdrawals at the ATM,yes; for payment for goods, that is limited to the extent of your existing funds held on account. If you have 20K in your account you can buy something for 20K. Hope that helps.

but you will have to call the bank and tell them about your payment or the banks fraud system will decline it..

Generally, If there are no transactions of such big amounts in your account and suddenly you raise transaction at a sale point for big amount, the Fruad Alert will trigger on the account and might stop the transaction. It is always better to call the bank and let them know that you are planning to do this payment for so and so amount then they might increase the Fruad Alert Level amount.
As it is said, its always better to prepare in advance rather than feeling sorry afterwards.
Wish you best of luck.

Hi fellow group members,
I had a query if anyone could help. I have appointment booked at Sheffield PEO for Tier 1 General extension. I understand Visa debit card is acceptable but would anyone be aware if it makes any difference if it is mentioned on the card ' for electronic use only' .
Because it is fine generally everywhere but once in a London station I couldn't top up my oyster tickets as that station machine didn't accept card with 'electronic use only'
Please advise. It would be helpful. Or i wud probably have to get done a postal order as it is a PEO appointment.
Regards to everyone.
