i am new to this group. I would like to know whether
U.S GC status/citizenship can help in getting
UK permanent residency/citizenship ? Please advise.

No - the normal rules apply - see the BritainUSA website and http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk

And not only that, if you (the original poster) have a US Green Card, you can very easily lose this status once you move outside of the US. Be careful.
