ILR (Indefinite Leave to Remain )- SET(o) 10 Years Residence

Post by emon0007 » Wed Jan 04, 2012 3:30 pm

Dear Reader, Recently I have applied for my ILR-10 years Category, I have few question, Please answer me, I need help from you guys. I have applied for my ILR in December, 2011, and I have received the acknowledgement letter within 5 working days and money was taken from my bank account.

But now I am planning to move in different address from February as my landlord is selling the property, so I will not have any access of my current address from Feb 2012, But I don't know what is the procedure to change address , as at the moment my application is in home office. Should I write to Liverpool Case worker, or I need to call Croydon , Home Office Branch ? As SET(o) guideline says, "if you need to contact us after you have applied. To send us more information about your application write us on following address, Liverpool Settlement Casework......Po box....."

I just want to make sure that they do not send my all documents back to my current address. So if anyone of you have changed the address before or know the procedure how to change address , please help me then. I do know how to change bio-metric residence permit address, as there is a page on UKBA website,

"https://contact-ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/ ... y-details/"

But I want to make sure the above link website is also applicable for people who's application is currently with Home Office.

thanks.

1. Send that information to the Liverpool address as advised in the SET (O) guidance and use a recorded delivery and keep the receipt.
2. Also mention clearly wen you will be moving and which address HO shud use to return your documents (in case u application is decided and returned to you before you move out).

I would suggest you let the home office know on whatever email or number you find for them.

And to be on the safe side, go to your local post office and get your mail redirected to your new address. Redirection will give you two benefits.

1. If somehow Home Office still sends your document back on your old address or send any other important communication, you will get it redirected on your new address. Redirection for 6 months only costs £27.20 but I would advise for at least a year which costs £40.85 as the HO can take more than 6 months to decide your application.

2. Redirection is always a good idea as you can avoid from being a victim of identity theft.
