Multiple Schengen Visa

Post by nikitasha8 » Thu Jan 05, 2012 9:03 am

Hi All, Just a quick question. I am planning to go to spain in March and again planning to go to Europe in a tour in June with my family(coming from india). Please can you advise if I can apply from Multiple entry Schengen Visa and go to Spain and later on to Europe. I am currently on Tier 1(General) in UK and my parent are coming from India in June. My Parents will apply for Schengen Visa from india.

Thanks all in advance.

Depends on a number of factors:

Do you have a track record of multiple visits within Schengen?
How long is your UK permit valid for?
How long is your passport valid for?
Where else in Europe are you visiting in June?

The Spanish are not obliged to issue you a MULTI entry visa so you may well get one for the duration of your trip. If you are visiting more than one Schengen country in June then apply to the one you are either entering/staying in first or the longest in.

You need to justify needing a multiple entry visa; for e.g you have family members in Europe you wish to visit regularly, for business etc.

Thanks for you reply

1) I have only had Schengen visa once and that was for 3 days only. My husband has never applied for Schengen visa before.
2) My visa expired in July 2013.
3) My passport is valid till 2014
4) In June I am planning to take a tour which included Belgium, France, Italy, Switzerland

I have visited other countries Like canada and U.SA and have 10 year multiple visa for U.S if this makes any difference. But my husband has never visted any other country before.

Also how much balance will be required to apply for a visa and how long that has to be maintained in bank account.

Thanks for all your help.

In-terms of how much balance you require to apply for visa- I was require to have £55/day for trip made to France last Christmas. So I assume it's the same for every other Schengen countries. And note, if you're sponsoring your husband that's like to be £55*2/day.

As for how long you need to maintain a healthy balance, personally I don't think it matters but the earlier you start having a healthy balance in your bank account the better as they(embassy) usually look for every opportunity to refuse visa (just my opinion)

Check relevant embassy's website for updates and more info.
